I am lucky to have a career where I can bridge tech to biological problems, and I am passionate about ecology and the environment. Part of why our synthesis platform is so awesome is that it is wholly sustainable. We use thousands fold less organic solvents and reagents than anyone else out there. It's essentially a small-footprint platform for gene assembly.

What responsibilities does your job entail?

I am responsible for driving increasingly efficient synthesis of oligos using novel chemistries.

What’s your favorite part of the job?

I enjoy being sandwiched between engineering and molecular biology. I started as a nucleic acid chemist and have transitioned everywhere between transcriptional regulation to leveraging nano-scale CMOS devices for sequencing. There is always variety.
