I am inspired by learning new things. I went to grad school with the idea that it would be awesome to "get paid to learn new things." It HAS BEEN great, and working on the types of projects that we have at Elegen is an extension of this learning and exploration.

What’s your favorite part of the job?
We get to combine a lot of different disciplines, including microtechnology, chemistry, optics, and software, to make totally new systems with new functionalities.
What do you like about working at Elegen?
It is a really fun atmosphere, we have great people, and we get to work on interesting applications of microfluidics and microtechnology, which is what I studied during my Ph.D. and postdoc.
Favorite Hobbies?
I love to travel to Europe and hike, bike, snowshoe, and snowboard throughout California. My goal is to visit every county in California for some sort of activity.
