What’s your favorite part of the job?

The people that I interact with on a daily basis within the walls of Elegen and the people that I meet through this opportunity I have been given. They each have their own story, and it is fascinating to hear them.

Why did you pick this career?

I remember the day the opportunity arose to join the GeneArt team. We knew this would change everything. And it did. The ability to write DNA (at a scale) was becoming a reality. There was so much focus at the time on reading DNA ($1000 genome), and very little going on when it came to writing DNA. That was only the beginning.

Favorite Hobbies?

When I do get an opportunity, I love to play golf, fish, and be on the water. Our happy place is Sandbridge Beach in VA.
